Parks & Recreation
Welcome to Fall!
This Fall edition of Destination Recreation offers a wide variety of new adventures to celebrate the cooler temperatures in our beautiful and colorful outdoors! We welcome the holiday season too, check us out for our new themed events and cultural activities. James City County parks have always been “pet-friendly” and in this issue we’ll hit the “paws” button and take a closer look at our year-round offerings and amenities that make our community a “paws-itively” fun destination. Our fall programming includes a new Learn-to-Swim initiative, outdoor adventures, a new financial planning series, Winter Break programs and a wide range of health and wellness classes and workshops including a new cancer fitness and wellness series. We’re offering more than 20 special events to make the season bright - returning favorites include Drool in the Pool, the New Town Tunes outdoor concerts, Harvest Festival, Boo Bash at the Beach, Santa Calling, Breakfast with Santa and the Fitness Open House.
We’re Hiring too! Needed are lifeguards, Park Attendants, Recreation Leaders, Customer Service representatives, instructors and more. If providing outstanding customer service with passion is a position that you can fill, we want to meet you! Please apply online.
Please spend a few minutes with this edition of Destination Recreation and share it with your family and friends. This fall edition details programs through January; look for the winter/spring issue in January and the summer edition in April. You can download the brochure or pick up a copy at the James City County Recreation Center, the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, any Parks & Recreation public facility and at the James City County or Williamsburg libraries.
