Assistant Chief Monique Myers was promoted to Assistant Chief on June 1, 2022. Assistant Chief Myers was previously employed with Portsmouth Police Department as a police officer. Assistant Chief Myers was hired by James City County Police Department in October 2006 and has served JCCPD as a Patrol Officer, a Community Service Unit Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Community Services Unit Sergeant and Lieutenant. Assistant Chief Myers is currently serving as the Assistant Chief over the Professional Standards and Internal Affairs Unit in the Administrative Services Division. Over the past years of her service, Assistant Chief Myers has received several awards and decorations, to include the Supervisory Service Award. In addition, she is a Virginia Certified Crime Prevention Specialist and an Advanced Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Instructor.
Assistant Chief Myers has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University. She is also a graduate from the Professional Executive Leadership School at the University of Richmond.
