The James City Service Authority is issuing a Request For Proposals for Water Main Replacement Design Services. This Request for Proposals is issued by James City Service Authority (JCSA) to obtain proposals for professional engineering services to assist JCSA with the design, permitting, and bidding phases for approximately 22,000 linear feet of water main replacement in the White Oaks, Indigo Park, Jamestown Farm, and Canterbury Hills subdivisions located in James City County.
The existing water system serving this area consists predominantly of 2”, 4”, and 6” cast iron, galvanized steel and asbestos cement water mains installed in the early 1970s. In addition to the water mains being undersized by current standards, limiting available fire flow, the area has also exhibited an increased number of main breaks within the past several years. JCSA intends to replace all undersized water mains in this area with new water mains. In addition to replacing the water mains, new valves, fire hydrants, service connections, and water meter boxes shall be installed. The project will require a James City County special use permit (SUP) and site plan approval. It is anticipated that a VDH permit will not be required, as this project would fall under JCSA’s general distribution permit.
Sealed proposals (1-Original and 4-copies) will be due not later than 2:00 pm in the Purchasing Office on December 14, 2018.
