PLEASE NOTE: The tennis/pickleball courts at Veterans Park will close on Tuesday, Nov. 5. During the following 8 weeks, contractors will demolish the existing tennis and pickleball courts, which are in poor condition due to age. After leveling the area to eliminate slope problems, the contractors will build 8 pickleball courts. Tennis will no longer be available at Veterans Park; tennis players are encouraged to use the 7 lighted tennis courts at Kiwanis Park. Each of our 3 local high schools also has 6 tennis courts. Kidsburg and other Veterans Park amenities will remain open during this project.

About Veterans Park

Veterans Park, formerly Mid County Park, is home to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial monument donated by local resident David Hooker in 1993 to honor residents who gave their lives in the Vietnam War. The 19-acre park is also home to Kidsburg, a 30,000-square-foot lighted playground that features separate play areas for children ages 2-5 and 5-12, a ship replica, swing areas and a zip line. Other park amenities include an indoor multipurpose room, 0.6-mile paved ADA accessible multiuse trail, sand volleyball courts, lighted basketball courts and tennis/pickleball courts, Wi-Fi connectivity and lots of open space.
