Home-Based Business Conference

Home-Based Business Conference on April 12

The fourth annual Home-Based Business Conference is on Friday, April 12 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Workforce Development Center at 600 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666. This unique event features a resource fair with over 20 exhibitors, as well as conference sessions and specialty breakout tracts focused on topics relevant to all types of home-based businesses. Attention Business Owners

Beginning this year, both your completed business license renewal form and full payment are due March 1. Forms were mailed on Jan. 7. There is also a new online Business License Tax Calculator to calculate your tax due and print out your renewal form. The web page also contains filing and payment instructions.

Corporate County businesses are encouraged to join their private and public sector colleagues at the Newport News Corporate Security Symposium on Thursday, April 3, 2019 at the Virginia Advanced Shipbuilding & Carrier Integration Center, 2401 West Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607. During the Newport News Corporate Security Symposium, speakers from private sector companies, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other federal, state and local government agencies will address topics including insider threats, cyber threats, cyber mitigation and response.
