Community Budget Meetings

James City County’s Board of Supervisors will host two meetings to discuss the proposed FY2019-20 biennial budget and to get feedback from citizens. The meetings will take place April 12 at Legacy Hall, 4301 New Town Avenue; and April 16 at James City County Library, 7770 Croaker Road. Both begin at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome! Details.

Countywide Spring Cleanup

Join the Clean County Commission's continued efforts to keep James City County beautiful through the 40th Annual Countywide Spring Cleanup event with a material collection date scheduled for April 14, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Jolly Pond Transfer Station located at 1204 Jolly Pond Road.

This event was created to encourage citizens to clean up public common areas and right-of-ways throughout the month. Registration suggested. Details.

Landlord Fest

Are you a rental property owner? Join us for Landlord Fest April 26, 5:30-7 p.m. at the James City County Recreation Center at 5301 Longhill Road. Landlord Fest is a community resource fair held for the purpose of connecting rental property owners to valuable resources and opportunities to provide housing to our most vulnerable citizens. Upcoming Events for Kids and Teens

  • Spring Break Camps: Parks & Recreation is offering full-day REC Connect Spring Break programs for youth ages 5-14. Activities include day trips, games, outdoor excursions and more! Register online by 10 a.m. March 30. Details. 

  • Easter Egg Extravaganza: One of James City County’s family-favorite events, the annual Easter egg hunt returns on Saturday, March 31. The event is designed for children ages walking to 7. Two hunts will be held – one on the Warhill Sports Complex baseball fields and the second at the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center in GroveDetails.

  • Middle School After-School Programs: James City County REC Connect is offering after-school programs for middle school-age youth, available Monday-Friday, school dismissal to 6 p.m. The program is held at the James City County Recreation Center, and transportation is provided daily from the middle schools to the Recreation Center. Register online with REC Connect. Details.
