The James City County Historical Commission is seeking nominations for the 2018 Historic Preservation Awards. Historic Preservation Awards are presented by the Historical Commission to individuals, groups or organizations that meet certain criteria. The awards will be presented during a James City County Board of Supervisors meeting. Biennial Reassessments Have Been Mailed

James City County mailed approximately 14,300 change of assessment notices for the biennial general reassessment on Feb 28. Assessments are used to calculate a County property owner’s real estate tax which is currently .84 cents per $100 of assessed value. Property owners may file an appeal in writing with the Board of Equalization by April 30, 2018. Details.
