Police Training in James Terrace and Colonial Park - Jan. 16

James City County Police Department will be conducting training at two uninhabited residences in James Terrace and Colonial Park (specifically on Madison Road and Tyler Drive) today, Jan. 16. Residents should expect to see an increase in law enforcement personnel and equipment in the area. Residents may hear noises throughout the day.

Joint Land Use Study Community Workshop - Jan. 16

After approximately 13 months of research and public input, a draft of the Fort Eustis Joint Land Use Study is available for review. The James City County workshop will take place today, Jan. 16, 6-8 p.m. at the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, 8901 Pocahontas Trail. All residents are encouraged to attend. Details.

Pocahontas Trail Corridor Study Workshop - Jan. 24

Be part of the solution for future transportation improvements. Based on feedback from the public at our previous workshop, we have developed several preliminary concepts. Join us Jan. 24, 6:30-8 p.m., at Little Zion Baptist Church, 8625 Pocahontas Trail, to learn about these concepts, provide feedback, and help shape the vision for the corridor's future.

Traffic Alert: I-64 Widening Project

The Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled full ramp closures overnight until Jan. 18:

•Route 199 east on-ramp to I-64 west
•Route 199 west on-ramp to I-64 east
•I-64 west off-ramp to Route 143 (exit 243B)

Some closures may begin as early as 7 p.m., and all construction work is dependent upon weather conditions. There are several additional lane closures and detours scheduled. Details.
