[ARCHIVED] James City County Guide to Gift Giving – Part II: Unique Gifts

Gift Guide 2

James City County (JCC) is home to great shopping. With numerous mainstream retailers and lots of quirky, unique shops, there’s a gift for everyone on your holiday shopping list! The JCC Guide to Gift Giving has been broken into four parts: made in JCC, unique gifts, food gifts and locally owned businesses.

What do you get for the person that seems to have everything? The answer is a unique gift! Unique gifts are things that people might not immediately think to gift. The options for unique gifts are endless!

For the makers (or artists and crafters) in your life, a gift certificate to a class may be something they would enjoy because they can make something.

Busch Gardens has tons of unique gifts available at their park that make great gifts such as paint-your-own-pottery, handcrafted Capodimonte and exceptional imported goods. They also have a limited selection of products available online.

An item from the Fox Wire Farm Store and Boutique makes a good gift. The boutique is located in Toano and offers alpaca yarn, apparel made from alpaca yarn and other gift items.

Historic Jamestowne offers a variety of gifts including reproductions of items found as archaeologists have discovered the history of Jamestowne. Two items worth noting are the green heart earrings fashioned after a glass bead that was found on site and a reproduction of a drinking jug circa 1600.

The Jamestown Settlement Gift Shop has a variety of unique gifts including reproductions of maps for the history (or map) enthusiast and a variety of ornaments and gifts. Some items are available online if you need to ship a gift.

A gift certificate to the Williamsburg Salt Spa. The Williamsburg Salt Spa has a therapeutic salt cave, float tanks (also referred to as sensory deprivation tanks) and massage services.
