[ARCHIVED] James City County Guide to Gift Giving – Part I: Made in James City County

Gift Guide - Made.png

James City County (JCC) is home to great shopping. With numerous mainstream retailers and lots of quirky, unique shops, there’s a gift for everyone on your holiday shopping list! The JCC Guide to Gift Giving will be broken into four parts: made in JCC, unique gifts, food gifts and locally owned businesses.

Many people love authentic gifts made in America, but we’ve taken things a step further and compiled a list of products made right here in JCC.

Jamestown Glasshouse – Handmade glass makes a beautiful gift. Products made by hand at the Jamestown Glasshouse are available to purchase at the Glasshouse and online. Products include vases, pitchers, candleholders, wine glasses and paper weights in different colors of glass.

Mrs. Bryant’s Apple Sauce – Virginia Gourmet sells Mrs. Bryant’s Apple Sauce, which is made in JCC. It is available at the store along with a wide variety of other food products. Most products can also be ordered online and shipped.

Perfectly Natural Soap – With bar soap, deodorant, facial care, men and bath soaks/oils/salts, the list and variety of products made by Perfectly Natural Soap is sure to please. Perfectly Natural Soap even offers a “Soap of the Month” Club and beer soap!

Tasha’s Own – If you know someone who loves natural products, Tasha’s Own produces handcrafted soaps, balms and moisturizers made out of goat’s milk. In a variety of scents, Tasha’s Own is available at the Mistletoe Marketplace at Busch Gardens and also at the Williamsburg Farmer’s Market.

Williamsburg Distillery – For spirit enthusiasts, the Williamsburg Distillery makes its own Jamestown Gin and Yorktown Silver Rum. Products can be ordered at ABC stores and purchased directly at their flagship location on Merrimac Trail.

Williamsburg Pottery’s salt glazed pottery – A classic since 1938, the salt glaze pottery at the Williamsburg Pottery is still handcrafted. From small dishes for knickknacks to larger vases and jugs, the Williamsburg Pottery pieces are classic and timeless.

Williamsburg Winery wine – The Williamsburg Winery grows grapes on its 300 acre farm and processes it into their full array of wines. Our suggestion is the Jamestown Cellars Settlers' Spiced Wine, which is a mulled wine meant to be served warm and quite seasonally appropriate. If mulled wine doesn’t seem like something the intended recipient would like, then they also have a large variety of reds, white and other specialty wines at numerous price points.

Let us know on Facebook if there are gifts made in JCC that we have missed!
