[ARCHIVED] JCC Police respond to bank robbery

The Chesapeake Bank located at 4492 John Tyler Highway was robbed this morning at 10:35 a.m. Bank employees reported that a male carrying a cloth shopping bag and wearing all black clothing, a long black wig, a mask and white gloves entered the bank armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He is described as a black male, approximately 5’8” to 6’ tall.

There were no customers in the bank at the time and no one was injured.

Callers to the Crime Line may remain anonymous, do not have to testify in court and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if the information leads to an arrest.
