The guidebook for investing in the County’s future, the County’s Strategic Plan 2035, is nearing completion with the release of the Phase 5 Report. The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the Plan and the Report at their Nov. 22 regular meeting. After a 14-month planning effort that involved citizens, businesses, community stakeholders and staff, the County has identified top priorities for action and investment over the next 20 years. The Phase 5 report can be found online.
The County Strategic Plan will be used to focus efforts and resources, set priorities for staff work plans, evaluate progress toward achieving vision and assess or adjust direction in response to a changing environment. It will work in tandem with the County’s Comprehensive Plan, Capital Improvement Plan and annual budgets.
The Plan can be downloaded from the website. Copies are also available for review at the James City County Communications Department, 101 Mounts Bay Road, Building D, James City County Library (7770 Croaker Road) and the Williamsburg Regional Library (515 Scotland Street).
