[ARCHIVED] Five Brothers Pancake & Steakhouse Receives the 2016 3rd Quarter Clean Business Award

Five Brothers Pancake and Steakhouse

Congratulations to Five Brothers Pancake & Steakhouse for their hard work and perseverance toward helping keep the community beautiful. Five Brothers Pancake & Steakhouse (formerly known as Hot Stacks Pancake House) is located at 6495 Richmond Road in Lightfoot. The business was selected by the James City Clean County Commission to be the recipient of the 2016 3rd Quarter Clean Business Award for their beautification efforts and environmental initiatives.

One of the most impressive sustainability efforts of the family-owned business is their composting program. All food waste is transported offsite and used as compost by local farmers. Employees recycle all cardboard, paper, plastic containers, metal cans and glass bottles. An ongoing energy-saving initiative is their practice of changing over their current indoor and outdoor lighting sources to LED lightbulbs. Family members also do a beautiful job maintaining the flower garden in front of the restaurant adding to the curb appeal and providing habitat for pollinators.

The award was presented at the 3rd Quarter Awards Breakfast Forum. Attendees included representatives from local businesses, York County and James City County General Services.
