Domestic violence is an issue sometimes unseen, even as it demands greater awareness in part because its effects can spread to the larger society, according to workshop leaders at the Historic Triangle Conference on Violence Against Women.
The conference attempted to give greater voice to the problems of domestic violence and sexual assault in a two-day event on Monday and Tuesday. The Alliance on Violence Against Women — a group of local professionals that provides law enforcement training, education and other services to reduce crimes committed against women — held the event at Great Wolf Lodge.
