On Oct. 6 at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from James City County Police Department, James City County Fire Department, Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force, Virginia State Police, Newport News Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team and Virginia Department of Emergency Management searched a residence located at 7789 Richmond Road. The search was related to the on-going investigation conducted by the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office and Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force involving a traffic crash that occurred earlier today on Route 17 in York County where evidence was recovered from a vehicle related to the manufacturing of methamphetamines.
The residence is located in the vicinity of Toano Middle School on Richmond Road but at no time were students or staff in any danger.
