If you want to celebrate Chocolate Cupcake Day with a chocolate cupcake, there are two bakeries that sell cupcakes every day – Cakealicious in New Town and Smallcakes Williamsburg in Settler’s Market. There are several other bakeries in James City County including Carrot Tree Kitchens, Au Bon Pain at the Williamsburg Pottery and there are grocery stores that sell cupcakes too. Both Cakealicious and Smallcakes have a variety of chocolate cupcake flavors that include toppings and fillings galore such as caramel, mint and fruit. Smallcakes and Cakealicious both have ties to the Food Network. Smallcakes was founded by Jeff Martin who appeared on seasons 1, 2 and 7 of Cupcake Wars. Cakealicious is owned by Alice Cooke, who won the “Madeline” episode of Cake Wars during season 5. Make sure to satisfy your sweet tooth with a chocolate cupcake!
