Parks and Recreation offers the following classes, events and activities in October: Aquatics Learn to Swim, Free Swim Evaluations There are individual registration periods before each swim lesson session. The registration period for October classes ends Oct. 7. Registration is accepted at the James City County Recreation Center and online at jamescitycountyva.gov/recreation. Before/After School Program The REC Connect Before/After School program is available to youth ages 5-14 enrolled in grades K-8. The program operates Monday-Friday during the Williamsburg-James City County Public School school year. The Before School program, held at all WJCC elementary schools, is available 7 a.m. until school start time. The After School program is offered from school dismissal until 6 p.m. All middle schools combine for the After School program at the James City County Recreation Center (daily transportation from the schools to the Center is provided).
