James City County Police have obtained warrants for 34 year old Johnnie Mathew Chapman of James City County for aggravated malicious wounding (2 counts), malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony (3 counts) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
On Sept. 25 at approximately 12:29 a.m., officers responded to the Elks Lodge at 105 Howard Drive for a disturbance and reports of shots fired. Two adult male victims were struck by gunfire and were transported by medics to Riverside Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.
The investigation would reveal 34 year old Johnnie Mathew Chapman of James City County as the suspect. Chapman is a black male, 5'11" and 160 pounds. His last known address is on Stratford Rd. Chapman was last seen in a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe with VA plate XHK7725.
