Pedal your way through the Virginia Capital Trail with color surprises at every turn! Join Parks and Recreation on Saturday, Oct. 8, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. for the first Capital Color Ride and add a little color to your roundtrip bike ride from Chickahominy Riverfront Park. Load up your bike, wear your white T-shirt and Get Colored at “color pit stops” which feature refueling stations of water, healthy snacks and recreational fun. Travel to the “Color Pit Stop” of your choice – PURPLE (1-mile ride) is the Family Fun ride; GREEN is 4-miles; BLUE is 8-miles; RED is the 14-mile ride or return to Chickahominy Riverfront Park for the GOLD finisher color!
During the event, you can also register your bike and get a bike safety check by the James City County Police Department. The registration fee is $10/person and includes refreshments, maps, T-shirt, lunch, biking vendors and colorful FUN! Children age 9 and younger are free! Register by Sept. 30 and SAVE, only $5/person. Pre-registration forms are also available at the James City County Recreation Center, Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, Chickahominy Riverfront Park, the Freedom Park Interpretive Center or online at jamescitycountyva.gov/recreation, code # 410400-A.
