Williamsburg Harvest Celebration

Mark your calendars for the second annual Williamsburg Harvest Celebration from Nov. 4-13, 2016. There are events throughout the Greater Williamsburg area. Come celebrate community and gathering together this fall. Schedule of JCC Events

Chowderfest
Fri., Nov. 4 from 6-9 p.m.
Mark your calendars for this fun community event! Join us for live music and yummy chowders…all in the comfort of a warm, heated tent. Your ticket includes unlimited chowder tasting from over 12 of the area’s finest establishments including the Fat Canary and Waypoint, two drink tickets and live music. Get your tickets early as this event always sells out quickly! 

Anvil Family Fish Jamboree
Sat., Nov. 5 from 1-4 p.m.
Family friendly event at one of America’s oldest campgrounds, Anvil Campground, with fish fry provided by Uncle Russ’ Dockside Seafood Market. Feast on fried flounder, pulled chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, hush puppies, cookies, brownies and fire roasted camp s’mores plus a hot chocolate bar with toppings, sweet tea and lemonade. Plus enjoy live music by Merritime with Tony Bob Merritt and preview two RV’s from Scenic View RV to explore and get the feel for modern outdoor camping. There will be lots of activities to enjoy with arts & crafts, a scavenger hunt, playground, arcade and corn hole. Event will be held rain or shine. Parking is onsite. Strollers, chairs and coolers (plastic & cans only please - NO GLASS) are permitted. Only service animals are allowed. Tickets will be available at the door if the event is not sold out. Don’t miss this unique event! 

CANCELED: Lambs + Clams at the Williamsburg Winery
Sat., Nov. 5 from 6-9 p.m.
Renowned shepherd, Craig Rogers, from Border Springs Farm and Virginia’s premier oysterman, Travis Croxton, from Rappahannock Oyster Company will be bringing their storied feast to the Williamsburg Harvest Celebration. This can’t-miss event will mimic the pair’s annual party during which chefs gather to feast on lamb, shellfish, and local libations. The event will feature inspired culinary creations from some of the region's top chefs paired with world-class wine, beer and spirits from the Williamsburg Tasting Trail.

The Cycling Shepherd & His Flock Bike Ride and Brunch
Sun., Nov. 6 from 8 a.m.-noon
Join renowned shepherd and cycling enthusiast Craig Rogers from Border Springs Farm and featured chefs from Lambs and Clams for a fun group ride along historic Route 5 and the newly opened Virginia Capital Trail. The 30 mile ride will conclude with a lamb-tastic wine-paired brunch in the vineyards at The Williamsburg Winery's Gabriel Archer Tavern.

Sunday Brunch at Capriccio Ristorante
Sun., Nov. 6, 12-1:30 p.m. and 1:30-3 p.m.
Join Chef James Fischetti for Capriccio’s Ristorante 5 star brunch offering such delights as homemade challah bread french toast or their crab cake Benedict. Brunch includes your choice of breakfast dishes, customizing your own bloody Mary or a mimosa and coffee. 

Capriccio’s Ristorante Authentic Pizza Party for Two, Two Seatings for Two Guests

Wed., Nov. 9 at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. 

Join Chef Troy in creating your very own Pizza as you choose your topping combinations. He will explain the process from making the dough to making it oven ready! Experience a taste of New York Style 18” thin crust pizza from our Brick Ovens plus enjoy your choice of a glass of Chianti or Sicani Bianco or a Craft Beer from Virginia Beer Company. Includes one pizza plus one beverage for each guest, tax and gratuity. Additional beverages will be available for purchase. Don't miss this special evening at Newtown's best new Italian Ristorante featuring Real New York Italian.

Café Provencal French Wine Dinner at Williamsburg Winery
Thurs., Nov. 10 from 6:30-9 p.m.
Transport yourself to Provence for the evening and enjoy a wine-paired dinner at the Café Provencal at Wessex Hundred. Taste the flavors of France as you partake in a five-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Ian Robbins. Each course will be paired with a fine French wine hand-selected by renowned French Sommelier, Sabine Brochard. 

Flavors of Spain Dinner at La Tienda
Thurs., Nov. 10 from 7-9 p.m.
Sip, sample and savor four courses of Tapas each paired with wine from various regions of Spain. Recognized as one of the region’s finest gourmet Spanish food & wine shop, you can browse the retail shop and learn about all the imported products offered at La Tienda. Hosted by Karen Kamm with her talented culinary team and La Tienda wine sommelier. 

Bountiful Brews & Bites
Fri., Nov. 11 from 5:30-9 p.m.
Celebrate a crisp fall evening with bountiful brews and bites! Enjoy this outdoor festival filled with food trucks, craft beer and fun! There will be live music and fireworks to end the evening. All food and adult beverages will cost an additional fee – the $10 ticket is general admission for all ages. Children five and under are free. Hot chocolate, bottled water and coffee will be free. Come enjoy a great evening with James City County! There will be many food trucks on site for you to choose from. Meet friends and gather under the tent where you can sit back and relax. Here are a few more helpful tips: Strollers are permitted, but it is an outdoor event, so traversing the lawn may be challenging. Only service animals will be permitted. No outside food or beverage. Don’t miss this special evening! 

Craft Beer Sampling in The Brauhaus Bier Room at Busch Gardens®
Fri., Nov. 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Das Festhaus® with the all-new Brauhaus Craft Bier Room, where thrills are always on tap! Enjoy a unique opportunity where Chef Justin Watson will host a casual gathering featuring an eight course pairing of craft beer and food sampling in the Brauhaus, a room tucked inside Das Festhaus’ main hall. Prost! 

Blending Winemaker Challenge
Sat., Nov. 12 from 12-3 p.m.
Join master Winemaker Matthew Meyer and group of renowned sommeliers for an afternoon of fun and competition. You’ll be paired up into teams and challenged with creating the best (and most delicious) blend possible from a selection of wines chosen by The Williamsburg Winery winemaking team. The finished blends will be bottled and presented to the sommelier judging panel for their evaluation. The winning team will be awarded trophies and crowned the Williamsburg Harvest Celebration Blending Masters! And, if that wasn't enough already, the winners will also receive tickets to next year’s event to defend their crown. May the best wine win! 

Masters of Taste Somm Challenge
Sat., Nov. 12 from 6-9 p.m.
Three Renowned Somms, five delicious courses and 15 world-class Virginia wines.

This interactive dining experience is the highlight of the Williamsburg Harvest Celebration. Three renown Sommeliers will compete for your votes to help crown the first-ever Williamsburg Harvest Celebration Master of Taste. Throw out the rule book, and let these passionate oenophiles pique your palate as they stretch the boundaries of conventional wine and food pairing. Each of the five courses will be paired with three wines - one selection from each sommelier. You will be asked to judge which pairing you thought was the best (and most daring) fit for that dish. At the conclusion of the event, the Sommelier with the highest point total will crowned Master of Taste. Are you up for the challenge? 

Taste of Spain Brunch at La Tienda
Sun., Nov. 13 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. 
Sip, sample and savor three brunch courses of Tapas paired with assorted coffees and breakfast cocktails. Recognized as one of the region’s finest gourmet Spanish food & wine shop, you can browse the retail shop and learn about all the imported products offered at La Tienda. Hosted by Karen Kamm with her talented culinary team.
