James City County Parks and Recreation invites you to spend some time with us this Labor Day weekend!

Friday, Sept. 2:
Movies Under the Stars, Free! – enjoy a great box office title out under the stars! Bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. All ages welcome; children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. The scheduled feature is No Good, Very Bad Day (PG); movies are subject to change. The movie starts at 8:30 p.m. at Chickahominy Riverfront Park, 1350 John Tyler Highway. Weather permitting.

Saturday, Sept. 3:
Karaoke in the Park, Free! - sing the night away while enjoying the park and the breeze coming across the Chickahominy River! All ages welcome; children age 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. The fun is 7-9 p.m. at Chickahominy Riverfront Park, 1350 John Tyler Highway. Weather permitting.

Through Sept. 5:
Join us at the County outdoor pools as we wind up the summer season!

Upper County Park, 180 Leisure Road in Toano, 757-566-1451
Open the weekend and Monday, Sept. 5, noon- 6 p.m. daily
The Park pool features a 25m pool with a slide and a toddler pool. For your convenience, there are separate and family changing rooms with showers, a snack bar, shade structures, lounge chairs and a playground nearby.

Chickahominy Riverfront Park, 1350 John Tyler Highway, 757-603-1114
Open daily, noon-6 p.m.
The Chickahominy pool offers a large pool, separate restrooms, two shade structures, lounge chairs, a playground nearby, ADA accessible pool lift and a snack bar stocked with ice cream, drinks and chips.

The outdoor pools close for the season on Monday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. Pool Fees for James City County/Williamsburg residents are children 5 and younger/Free!; youth 6-17, $3; adults 18-54, $4; and seniors 55+, $3.

Tuesday, Sept. 6:
Interpretive Paddles, Free! - kayak historic Powhatan Creek and Jamestown Island. View birds and wildlife native to our area. Bring your own kayak or rent one of ours. Guided by James River Association. For ages 18+; 16 participants maximum. To register: jrava.org. For information, email Jamie Brunkow at jbrunkow@irava.org. The paddle will be 6-8 p.m. at the James City County Marina, 2054 Jamestown Road.

Copies can be picked up at all parks and recreation facilities, all public County government offices, the James City County and Williamsburg libraries or downloaded from jamescitycountyva.gov/recreation beginning on Wednesday.
