Jamestown Beach Event Park is a great way to spend the day! Park amenities include picnic areas (some shaded) with charcoal grills; a designated fishing area (a freshwater license is required); an observation pier; outdoor rinse stations; paddle craft launch/loading area; and concession/restroom facility. This fully accessible park features an ADA accessible walkway, parking, showers and beach mat providing direct access to the river. The park is also dog-friendly, be sure to check the owner responsibility signs displayed throughout the park.
Guests may bring their own propane grill or use one of the park’s charcoal grills to prepare favorite foods. Picnic areas are not conducive to large group picnics, as space is limited and picnic tables are limited to two per group during peak hours. Picnic tables seat up to six. Picnic tables and grills are available on a first-come, first-served basis only.
Parking fees are in effect for nonresidents only - 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily through Labor Day. Please save your receipt! If you should need to leave the park, your receipt is needed to re-enter free of further charge on the same day. Residents of James City County and the City of Williamsburg pay no fees; however, proof of residency is required to avoid the fee.
Parking for nonresidents is $4/car on weekdays and $7/car on weekends and holidays. Fees are higher for high occupancy vehicles. For special events held at the park, separate parking fees may apply for both residents and nonresidents.
