Due to planned summer maintenance projects at Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School, 3131 Ironbound Road, all access and parking to the trailhead for Powhatan Creek Trail will be closed June 20-Aug. 22. Other access points to the trail are open and include the Virginia Capital Trail (parking at Jamestown Settlement, 2110 Jamestown Road), Chickahominy Riverfront Park (1350 John Tyler Highway) and Jamestown High School (3751 John Tyler Highway).
The planned school and County maintenance projects include improvements to parking lot, roof repairs, renovations and retrofit of stormwater treatment facilities.
