Mary Dellinger was safely located in Portsmouth at approximately 5 a.m. on Aug. 2, and the Silver Alert has been canceled.
Original News Flash:
James City County Police Department is urgently requesting the public's help in finding a missing elderly woman with dementia. Mary Dellinger, an 85-year-old white female with dementia, was reported missing from First Colony at 5 p.m. on Aug. 1. Dellinger was last seen driving her white 2010 Volkswagen Jetta TDI with VA plates MPG2LUV, exiting James City County while traveling westbound on Route 5 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Surveillance footage confirms the vehicle's route. The Virginia State Police has issued a Silver Alert.
Dellinger is described as being 5'5 tall, 130 lbs, with long silver hair and blue/gray eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing jeans and a white turtleneck sweater. Dellinger is presumed not to have any contact devices on her, and she may be heading toward a family residence in Elizabethton, TN. A photo of Mary Dellinger, taken on an unknown date, has been provided for identification purposes.
