Mark Jamison Formally Sworn in as James City County Police Chief

Mark Jamison was sworn in as the new James City County Police Chief on June 30 at the James City County Law Enforcement Center. The event was attended by County officials and community leaders and was streamed live online. Coming from a distinguished career at the Lynchburg Police Department, Chief Jamison brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to his new role. 

Chief Jamison expressed his enthusiasm for leading the dedicated team of law enforcement professionals and fostering collaboration with the community and County leaders to build a safer and stronger community. "I'm proud to be part of this organization and this community." He thanked his family, colleagues in law enforcement and County leaders and citizens for their support. "My commitment to you is that we will give 100 percent in everything that we do."

James City County will host a community meeting at 6 p.m. on July 10 at Legacy Hall (4301 New Town Ave.) for citizens to meet Chief Jamison.
