[ARCHIVED] Update - Series of Overnight Ramp Closures on Route 199 Rescheduled

UPDATE from VDOT - The ramp closures on Route 199 (Humelsine Parkway) at the Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) and Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) interchange in James City County and York County have been rescheduled. We will provide another update once the dates are scheduled.

JAMES CITY COUNTY/YORK COUNTY – Starting as early as April 24-27, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are scheduled to implement a series of alternating full ramp closures overnight on Route 199 (Humelsine Parkway) at the Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) and Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) interchange in James City County and York County, with signed detours in place for tree trimming operations. 

Alternating ramp closures are scheduled to be in place April 24-27 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the pairings listed below, weather and schedule permitting:  

  • On-ramp from Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) to Route 199 west (Humelsine Parkway) and off-ramp from Route 199 west (Humelsine Parkway) to Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) 
  • On-ramp from Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) to Route 199 west (Humelsine Parkway) and off-ramp from Route 199 west (Humelsine Parkway) to Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) 
  • On-ramp from Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) to Route 199 east (Humelsine Parkway) and off-ramp from Route 199 east (Humelsine Parkway) to Route 60 (Pocahonas Trail) 
  • On-ramp from Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) to Route 199 east (Humelsine Parkway) and off-ramp from Route 199 east (Humelsine Parkway) to Route 143 (Merrimac Trail) 

Only one pairing of ramp closures will be in place at a time. All work is weather and schedule dependent, and therefore, subject to change.
