JCCPD Celebrates Two New Lieutenants

JCCPD is releasing news

We are pleased to announce the promotion of two outstanding officers, Sergeant Jason Slodysko and Sergeant Sterling Perry, to the rank of Lieutenant. Their dedication to serving the community and their years of service have earned them this well-deserved promotion.

Slodysko CSU Picture

Lieutenant Jason Slodysko (pictured above) joined our department in 2005 and has proven to be an asset in various roles. He has served as a certified firearms instructor, a field training officer, and a nationally certified crisis and hostage negotiator. As an investigator in the Criminal Investigations Unit, he worked on cases ranging from fraud to homicides. His leadership skills shone through when he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where he supervised the department’s Community Service Unit. Lieutenant Slodysko's commitment to public safety and experience make him a valuable addition to our team of leaders, as he was the James City County Officer of the Year in 2014. He earned two Life Saving awards, two Investigative Service awards, and the Community Policing and Supervisory Service awards. He is honored to serve the community in this new role.

Lieutenant Sterling Perry (pictured above) has been with our department since 2000 and has excelled in every role he has taken. He has served as a patrol officer, SWAT Team Leader, and sniper/observer. Perry has received several awards and decorations for his outstanding service and dedication. He has been a valuable member of the Traffic Unit, where he served as a supervisor. He frequently is recognized for his leadership, notably being awarded the 2013 James City County Officer of the Year, SWAT Operator of the Year in 2010, and 2017 Officer of the Quarter. His extensive law enforcement training and certifications will be important as the department looks to grow and evolve to meet current/future challenges.

As we promote these two exceptional officers, we want to assure our community that we remain committed to public safety and are dedicated to providing the best possible service. We congratulate Lieutenant Slodysko and Lieutenant Perry on their well-deserved promotions and look forward to their continued service to our department and James City County.
