[ARCHIVED] Fire Hydrant Maintenance Continues

Hydromax truck

The James City Service Authority (JCSA) along with its contractor, Hydromax USA, is currently performing preventative maintenance on fire hydrants. Maintenance began on Jan. 18 and is currently halfway completed. The work is part of JCSA’s maintenance program to ensure that all fire hydrants are functioning properly and are accessible. As a result, minor clearing of landscaping, trees, shrubs, etc. may be required.

Each fire hydrant will be operated, which may result in temporary discoloration of water. If you experience discolored water, please flush cold-water fixtures until the water runs clear. The water remains safe to use; however, you may want to refrain from washing clothes until the water runs clear.

If you have any questions, please contact JCSA at 757-229-7421 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
