James City County Social Services is finalizing plans for Friday’s Prevention Expo. The event is geared towards seniors in the community and includes several guest speakers who will talk about a variety of topics.
10:15 a.m. - Officer Alan McDowell with the James City County Police Department will talk about scams and frauds.
11:15 a.m. - Christine Jensen, Director of Health Services Research with the Riverside Center for Excellence in Aging and Lifelong Health, will cover developing a care team for family caregivers.
12:15 p.m. - Dave Murray, Executive Director, Advance Care Planning Coalition of Eastern Virginia, will present information on a health care exit plan.
1:15 p.m. - Attorney Jennifer Kahl will cover power of attorney, wills and trusts.
The Prevention Expo is on Friday, May 20 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the James City County Recreation Center, 5301 Longhill Road.
Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
