On Apr. 27 at approximately 5:21 p.m., JCCPD officers responded to a robbery at the Exxon located at 4625 Monticello Avenue. A female subject purchased a pack of Marlboro Menthol 72 cigarettes and then demanded all the money from the cash register drawer. She arrived and left the business as a back seat passenger in a champagne or silver GMC Yukon which was last seen crossing Monticello Avenue onto News Road.
On May 5 JCCPD officers were made aware of an attempted robbery that occurred at 4197 Centerville Road on Apr. 27 at approximately 4:45 p.m. by the same suspect in the above mentioned robbery. The female purchased some beverages and then demanded all the money from the cash register. The clerk refused to provide the money and told the female to leave the store which she did. The female was last seen leaving as a passenger in a GMC Yukon.
During the course of the investigation numerous citizens reached out and provided law enforcement with credible information which ultimately led to the identification of Heather Krinks, 35-years-old of Newport News, VA, as a suspect. On May 9, Investigators made contact with Heather Krinks at a relatives address in Newport News and transported her to the Law Enforcement Center. During the interview, Investigators received sufficient information to charge Krinks with robbery and attempted robbery.
She was transported to Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail where she is being held with no bond.
