James City County Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Dehaven Court in Lafayette Square Apartments this afternoon at approximately 12:54 p.m. The victim, a 20 year old man, was transported to Riverside Regional Hospital in Newport News with non-life threatening injuries.
There was a handgun recovered at the scene but it is not believed to have been used in the shooting.
Police will release additional information as it becomes available.
