On September 2 at 6:08 p.m., units from the James City County Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 3800 block of Phillip Ludwell in the Greensprings Plantation subdivision. First arriving units found fire in the attic of the two-story home. The fire was brought under control at 6:31 p.m., after causing significant fire and smoke damage to the attic. Crews remained on scene to overhaul the attic contents and prevent further water damage to the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries.
