[ARCHIVED] Jamestown Jams Concerts Return for Summer!

Jamestown Jams Flash

Jazz Night kicks off the Jamestown Jams concert series on July 30 featuring Good Shot Judy. Good Shot Judy specializes in delivering top-notch vocal jazz and recreating the classic nightclub entertainment feel of Las Vegas in its prime. Think Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Count Basie, glitz and glamour. Real entertainment from an era that was not only filled with great singers, performers and great songs, but whose legacy has become synonymous with what great entertainment really is. The band plays from 6-7:30 p.m. Concerts are free, performed live and are held at Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Road.

Bring your own picnic or purchase food from the onsite trucks - the Skrimp Truck, Virginia Diner and Sno-to-Go. The Williamsburg Winery will also be on hand serving fine wines.

The concert schedule also features:

August 27 ● The Deloreans: Americas Favorite 80’s Show Band
Put on your best 80s outfit! This seasoned showband is comprised of six distinct vocalists who cover the most memorable artists and nostalgic songs of the 80s. Each band member is featured throughout the show, making this band’s most notable attribute its unmatched variety.

September 24 ● J Baxter & The Sauce: Party-rock, show performance and soul music showcasing a range of influences including James Brown, Michael Jackson, Parliament Funk and more. This 14-piece band (six vocalists, drums, bass, guitar, keys, three horns and a DJ) is comprised of a team of accomplished professional musicians having shared stages with legendary performers ranging from Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, Chase Atkins and more.

Admission to the concerts is free. The entrance opens at 5:30 p.m. Concerts take place on the grassy event field within Jamestown Beach Event Park. Parking is available behind the old Jamestown Campground building with additional parking in the Jamestown Settlement auxiliary lot located at the Park and at Jamestown Settlement’s bus lot, if necessary.

Bring the family for an evening of fun! Chairs, blankets and your dancing shoes are encouraged! Snacks, picnics and non-alcoholic beverages permitted. All items are subject to inspection before entrance. No alcohol or large, plastic coolers are permitted. To ensure the safety of all guests, only service animals are permitted; pets are not permitted at the concerts.

James City County is partnering with The Arc of Greater Williamsburg (The Arc) to offer the concert series. The Arc will be selling assorted beer and all proceeds benefit their local activities and programs. The Arc has proudly served adults with developmental disabilities in our community since 1976. Now in their 43rd year, The Arc serves young adults as they age out of special education at age 22 and continue serving these adults through their lives. They provide 8-10 monthly, evening activities, as well as a Day Support Program. Programs and activities also provide respite time for caregivers.

Jamestown Beach remains open to patrons during each concert while operating on regular schedule.
