Water Main Replacement Project to Begin June 14

The James City Service Authority will begin construction on Monday, June 14 on a water main replacement on Route 5 at the Powhatan Creek.  This water main broke earlier this spring and prompted the James City Service Authority to implement voluntary water restrictions due to concerns about adequate pressure as summer demands increase. It is anticipated that the project will be completed mid-July. Voluntary water restrictions remain in place until the project is complete.

Beginning Tuesday, June 15 for the duration of the project, one lane on Route 5 at the Powhatan Creek Bridge will be closed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Traffic will be impacted, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. A map of the affected area can be found here.
