Thanks to a generous donation from Eco
Discovery Park Founder and Spoke& Art Provisions Co. owner,
Steve Rose, exercise enthusiasts may now add strength training to their normalwalking, jogging and cycling routine along the Virginia
Capital Trail in James CityCounty. Outdoor multigym exercise stations were recently installed at three locations along the Virginia Capital Trail - the trailhead near Jamestown Settlement, close to the
intersection of John Tyler Highway and Greensprings Road near Spoke & ArtProvisions Co., and at the Greensprings Interpretive Trail trailhead parking lot behind Jamestown High
School.
Rose noted that about $35,000 was left in the non-profitaccount for the Eco Discovery Park, a year-round destination for kayak and bike
rentals near Jamestown Settlement. His group was seeking an endeavor wherepeople could spend more time outdoors learning about nature. With the County
providing the space and Rose the equipment, he added it seemed a great match. In the midst of the pandemic, use of the Greensprings Interpretive Trail
increased 106%, making it a prime location for the venture.
