On Dec. 16, 2020, a victim reported to JCCPD that she had been assaulted on Dec. 15 while receiving massage services at Massage LuXe on Monticello Avenue in James City County. The massage therapist was identified as Shawn Lamonte Robinson, 48-years-old of Williamsburg. He was charged with felony sexual assault by digital penetration. He was arrested on Dec. 18 and was held without bond at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail (VPRJ).
After Robinson’s arrest was made public, an additional four victims came forward. On March 17, Robinson was indicted on 14 counts of aggravated sexual battery, three counts of practicing without a license, two counts of digital penetration and four counts of assault and battery.
Robinson was a licensed massage therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia since Sept. 18, 2017, and his license was suspended on Oct. 30, 2020.
At the time that the indictments were issued, Robinson was incarcerated at VPRJ. The indictments were served on him on March 23.
