James City County emergency officials are monitoring potential winter weather conditions forecast for our area Thursday night through Saturday.

Residents should monitor the weather and local media for the latest updates. County closings and weather-related information will be posted on the County website and social media, and

County residents can sign up to receive important emergency alerts, notifications and updates on their cell phones, emails and more at Text messages charges may apply.

Road conditions may change rapidly and motorists should consider adjusting travel plans, staying at home if travel is not necessary and visiting, calling 511 or listening to 1680AM for current traffic and travel information.

Report power outages by calling Dominion Energy at 866-366-4357 or If you see downed power lines, please stay at least 30 feet away from them and call 866-366-4357 to report the location immediately.
