The Rainout Line is a new service offering quick access to as well as streamlining field notifications for parks and recreation athletic fields and school fields. When weather or other maintenance impact (field) use, participants have three options to access that information – call into the Rainout Line and hear the automated voicemail, download the Rainout Line app on your mobile phone or visit our website and click on the scrolling list of the fields or click on a link and be taken to our specific Rainout Line Dashboard.
The new service allows staff to instantly update changes in schedules or procedures, and then patrons using the Rainout Line can immediately receive the information via their selection options of email, text messaging, on our website or across Facebook and other social media mediums. Mobile phone users will use the service via a mobile app, and those customers will have free access to IPhone and Android apps.
Highlights of the new system include an advanced busy signal technology that dramatically reduces the chance of receiving a busy signal, allowing thousands of participants to call in at one time.
To access the service, visit https://rainoutline.come/search/dnis/7572392002, call 757-239-2002 or download the app. Once the application is downloaded you will search for James City County Parks & Recreation.
With the introduction of the new service, the current Field Status Hotline will be discontinued.
