On Wednesday, Sep. 2, James City County Police arrested Michael Dean Slye, 59 of JCC and charged him with Second Degree Murder in relation to the death of Terrence Orlando Pressey.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 29, JCC Police responded to the Motel Zuma located at 6493 Richmond Road in Lightfoot in reference to a man found deceased in a grassy area next to the parking lot. The man was identified as Pressey, 45 of JCC. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Norfolk where an autopsy was performed that determined he was the victim of a homicide.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Slye killed Pressey sometime on the evening of Aug. 28 following a verbal altercation.
Slye who is a resident and employee of the motel is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail without bond. Media seeking a mug photo should contact the VPRJ to obtain one.
The exact cause of death continues to be withheld due to the on-going investigation.
