PerfectMind Introduced
James City County Parks & Recreation will launch PerfectMind, a new online registration system, on Sept. 15. The new system offers customers a more efficient experience for all department registrations including memberships, drop-in admissions, facility reservations and rentals, classes, programs and other merchandise including County landfill coupons sold at Parks & Recreation facilities.
The transition, or down period, is Friday, Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. until Tuesday, Sept. 15, 8 a.m. During the transition, Parks & Recreation will be unable to process any transactions and that includes online, phone and in-person registrations.
In preparation for the Sept. 15 launch, patrons are able and encouraged to create their new accounts now in the PerfectMind system. Guides and tutorial videos are available on our website at jamescitycountyva.gov/recreation to walk you through the process. The entire process should take less than 10 minutes. Existing department customers, even if you already have a RecTrac account, you’ll need to create a PerfectMind account to continue to conduct Parks & Recreation transactions. If you need help, staff is available - call Freedom Park at 757-259-4022 weekdays 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m.-4 p.m. or call or visit our Customer Service counters at the Centers during operating hours - James City County Recreation Center, 5301 Longhill Road, 757-259-4200 and Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, 8901 Pocahontas Trail/Route 60, 757-887-5810 or email us at parks.rec@jamescitycountyva.gov.
PerfectMind replaces the old registration system, RecTrac, providing all of the previous services. However, the new software system streamlines many patron services for a more user-friendly experience that includes new features such as self-management of your own information – the ability to change your password, to add or delete family members, to update your contact information, to add a credit card to your account for easier checkout and to view your list of registered programs, all while assisting staff in developing, evaluating, promoting and operating the activities you enjoy.
