[ARCHIVED] Additional DMV Select Office to Open at James City County Government Center

Sign for DMV Select Mounts Bay Road

RICHMOND – The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is partnering with the James City County Treasurer’s Office to open a second DMV Select location, called James City County - Mounts Bay and located at the James City County Treasurer’s Office, 101 Mounts Bay Road, Building B, on August 3. DMV contracts with local governments to offer customers mostly vehicle-related transactions at DMV Selects. Transactions that can be conducted at DMV Selects include vehicle titles and registrations, license plates and decals, disabled parking placards, transcripts, and voter registration applications.
This location will also serve as an E-ZPass retailer and will support the nearby customer service centers, as well as the James City County DMV Select - Toano location. With the addition of this venue, DMV now has 55 DMV Select partners throughout the Commonwealth.
"We are pleased to expand on our successful partnership with James City County to provide even more service for area residents," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "With the shift to an appointment-only system in DMV customer service centers, we want to make sure customers know they have options to conduct vehicle-related transactions. By opening another DMV Select in James City County, residents with vehicle transactions can choose the DMV service outlet that is most convenient to them."
Similar to safely reopened DMV customer service centers across the Commonwealth, the new James City County DMV Select - Mounts Bay office will require appointments to ensure social distancing by limiting the number of people in the office at a time. Appointments can be made through the James City County website. Treasurer Jennifer D. Tomes and her staff are excited to expand DMV service options to James City County-area residents. “Offering multiple locations for these services strengthens our efforts to provide efficient, effective, and courteous service,” said Tomes. “Utilizing the local DMV Select offices saves our residents time and money.”
Hours of the new James City County DMV Select - Mounts Bay are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
