James City County is pleased to announce that Poke Sushi Bowl is now open at 6596 Richmond Road. Poke Sushi Bowl offers “build it your way” poke bowls, their signature poke bowls and made to order sushi rolls. Poke bowls are made of a base (rice, soba noodles or even mixed greens), protein, mix-in toppings and homemade sauces. Poke bowls are Hawaiian in origin, offer fresh ingredients and are a great source of protein. Many people refer to poke as a deconstructed sushi in a bowl.
Poke Sushi Bowl offers a variety of proteins including salmon, yellow tail, ahi tuna, smoked eel and organic tofu. Mix-ins include both sweet and savory ingredients like mango and pineapple or cucumber and jalapeno. Sauces are homemade, organic and gluten free.
Signature poke bowls at Poke Sushi Bowl include:
- Classic Tuna Bowl: ahi tuna, sweet onion, hijiki seaweed, edamame, sesame, green onion and shoyu sauce
- The Corner Bowl: Salmon, mango, cucumber, avocado, sweet and hot sauce, topped eel and sesame
- Hawaiian Bowl: shrimp, tuna, mango, pineapple, macadamia nuts and coconut cream
Poke Sushi Bowl uses a “non-oil” cooking procedure and a special filtered water system. Poke Sushi Bowl prides itself on only using natural ingredients – corn syrup and artificial flavors will never be used in their dishes.
“We are excited to open our new location in the Greater Williamsburg area and have received great feedback from customers. We hope to see many new faces in the coming weeks,” said Benjamin Diau, owner. Diau also owns Poke Sushi Bowl in Newport News.
