On May 21 at approximately 12:08 p.m., officers were called to the area of Adams Road near Gibson’s Mobile Home Park to a gunshot victim. The 20-year-old female victim (a York County resident) reported that she was walking on Adams Road when she realized someone was behind her. She stated that she began to walk more quickly, but the person behind her was getting closer to her. She advised that the person grabbed her from behind, and she fell to the ground. She struggled with the suspect and noticed that he was armed with a pocketknife. She was able to break free when he pulled a small, dark handgun out and shot her in the lower left leg. She was transported by medics to Riverside Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.
The suspect fled on foot. He is described as a black male, approximately 5’11” in height and 150-170 pounds in weight, wearing black pants, a black pullover hoodie, a black scarf-style mask and royal blue winter-type gloves.
