[ARCHIVED] Feb. 25 Structure Fire on Teal Way

James City County and City of Williamsburg Fire units were dispatched to a structure fire in the 100 block of Teal Way in James City County on Feb. 25 at 4:32 p.m. Units arrived at 4:38 p.m. to find smoke showing from the garage and attic space of the two-story home. Firefighters encountered intense smoke and fire in the garage area of the structure. The fire was brought under control at 5:09 p.m. The garage suffered significant fire and smoke damage. The living areas of the residence suffered smoke and heat damage. One occupant was home at the time of the fire and initiated the call to 911 after smelling smoke. The occupant evacuated the home prior to the arrival of the Fire Department. Fire units remained on the scene for several hours removing debris and checking for additional fire damage.
