Join us for a celebration of National Vietnam War Veterans Day on Sunday, March 29, 2 p.m. at Veterans Park (Kidsburg), 3793 Ironbound Road. First observed in 2012 as a one-time event, National Vietnam War Veterans Day was designated an annual event by the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 to honor the men and women who served and sacrificed during the longest conflict in United States history.
Come help us recognize the service of our Vietnam Veterans and their families and give them the welcome home they deserve. Guest speaker for this year’s ceremony is Congressman Rob Wittman who will present the Veterans with congressional certificates of recognition and Vietnam Veteran lapel pins. To ensure advance preparation of the certificates, Vietnam-era Veterans who plan to attend the ceremony should email or text their name to Chapter 957 President Tom Monahan at elmseabee@aol.com or call 757-293-8892 no later than Thursday, March 26, 5 p.m.
The ceremony is co-sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 957, the Business Council of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance and James City County.
