James City County is pleased to announce that Bicast has relocated to 8231 Richmond Road in Toano. Bicast is a family-owned company that specializes in doing custom work for a wide variety of historical sites, tourist attractions and vacation destinations. Bicast wholesales all of their products and is a SWaM certified Virginia business.

Bicast is operated by Stacy Harris, her husband (Forrest) and her father (Bill Gaertner). Stacy and Forrest’s son, Mitchell, also works for the company full-time and is an industry certified technician and one of the top experts in the field. The company was founded in 1989 and has always been located in the Greater Williamsburg region. As a company, Bicast has evolved over the years with the Gaertner family originally owning laundromats before purchasing a postcard business originating in Merchants Square and operating continuously since 1947. The business evolved into souvenirs and beach supplies distributed from the Outer Banks to Williamsburg.

“We are excited to expand our business and grow. Our unique products are made in the U.S.A and we couldn’t be more proud. Our latest project was developing merchandise celebrating Rosa Parks for the Library of Congress. Bicast is American craftsmanship at souvenir prices,” said Stacy Harris.

Bicast purchased the building at their new location and following renovations will have invested $1 million. Bicast has 18 full-time and two part-time employees. They anticipate hiring five new employees within the next year.
