James City County is pleased to announce that Billsburg Brewery, located at 2054 Jamestown Road at the James City County Marina, has canned their beer for the first time. Billsburg Brewery worked with a third-party to can nearly 300 cases of three Billsburg Brewery beers including Classic Lager, Flyaway IPA and Planet 4 Red Ale. The cans will be available for purchase at Billsburg Brewery beginning Saturday, Oct. 26 at noon, when the brewery opens. Six-packs of cans will cost $10 and are for consumption off-site.
“We are thrilled to offer cans as our birthday present to our patrons. Our brewhouse team worked really hard on this project and we couldn’t be celebrating this milestone without their dedication and commitment. We thought there was no better time to offer cans than in honor of our second birthday,” said David Baum, owner of Billsburg Brewery. He continued and said, “We look forward to offering additional cans in the future and continuing to make beer history in James City County.”
Previously, Billsburg Brewery has only offered crowlers and growlers for off-site consumption.
The Billsburg Birthday Bash will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 from noon until 10 p.m. There will be 6 new beer releases, live music, and food trucks on site. For more information about the event, please visit the Billsburg Brewery website or Facebook event.
Billsburg Brewery is also nominated for several “Best Of” awards from Veer Magazine for the annual Golden Tap Awards. Voting takes place online through Friday, Nov. 15.
