The James City County Board of Supervisors will have their first look at the Strategic Plan Foundations Report at the Feb. 9 Work Session. The Report is the first major product of the 2035 Strategic Plan initiative. This is the Board’s second opportunity to give feedback and input in to the Strategic Plan process since October 2015.

The Report contains information from interviews with community stakeholders and County staff plus feedback from the Strategic Plan Advisory Group (SPAG) and the Technical Advisory Group (TAG). Adopted County policies and plans and an analysis of economic and fiscal trends and opportunities were also reviewed for the Report. The meeting with the Board completes Phase One out of five phases scheduled to be completed by November 2016. Phase Two is expected to be completed by May 30 and will focus on the Plan’s goals and priorities for the future.

The Work Session will begin at 3 p.m. and the Strategic Plan is expected to be discussed at 4 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Building F Work Session Room, 101 Mounts Bay Rd. The meeting can be viewed in person, live on JCC TV (Cox Cable Channel 48), online via live stream or on demand. The Foundations Report will be posted online on Feb. 9.

The 2035 Strategic Plan is a year-long effort to prepare an action plan that will guide County operations and investments for the next 20 years. For more information or to receive weekly email updates about meetings, next steps and published reports, visit jccstrategy2035.org.
