[ARCHIVED] Capital Color Ride on Oct. 5

Capital Color Ride Flash_2018

CCC_Flash_sept2319Enjoy an autumn bike ride along the Virginia Capital Trail on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. This family-friendly biking event along a 15-mile stretch of the Virginia Capital Trail, starts and ends at Chickahominy Riverfront Park with a visit to the James City County Marina. Load up your bike, wear your white T-shirt and get colored at “color pit stops” which feature refueling stations of water, healthy snacks and recreational fun!  Celebrate milestones along the route - the farther you ride, the more colors you get! Being sprayed is optional; spray is food-grade, non-toxic powder dye. Riding this beautiful scenic trail is great fun as a family or at your leisure!

There are multiple riding options:
Purple: The family fun marker (1-mile ride)
Green: 2-mile marker (4-mile ride)
Blue: 4-mile marker (8-mile ride)
Red: 7-mile marker (14-mile ride)
Gold: Return to Chickahominy Riverfront Park for the gold finisher color!

During the event, you can also register your bikes and get bike safety checks by the James City County Police Department. Registration is $10/participant and includes refreshments, maps, lunch, a T-shirt (while supplies last) and colorful fun and biking vendors. Ages 9 and younger are free! Chickahominy Riverfront Park is located at 1350 John Tyler Highway. Info/registration visit us online or call 757-259-4200. Weather permitting; please call 757-259-3232 for any weather updates.
