On August 12 at 1:58 p.m., units from the James City County Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 100 Block of George Wilson Court in Powhatan Secondary. Neighbors called 911 reporting the fire and first arriving units found fire visible through the roof. The fire was brought under control at 2:55 p.m., after causing significant damage to the two-story home. Homeowners were not home at the time of the fire and the cause remains under investigation. James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department, WIlliamsburg Fire Department and York County Department of Fire and Life Safety assisted.
